K4fins team rider Mikey Clancy won the Irish Wave Championship competition
held in Bellmullet Co Mayo last weekend. The two day event which was
hosted by Surfdock on Elly Beach in almost perfect windsurfing
conditions with mast high waves and 23 knot wind sand bright sunshine.
Three full rounds of competition were held over the two days with
Mikey winning two rounds combined with a third place enough to take
the victory over Rob Jones and fellow k4fins rider Oisin van Gelderen who both shared the
runner up spot. The 21 year old radical wave riding and big jumps
impressed the judges. The final round of the IWA competition takes
place at Brandon Bay in a few weeks time.
