Congrats to team ripper Sam Latham for taking the amateur win in Brandon Bay Ireland. Perhaps better known for his slalom, Sam has shown he can rip it up too and is now leading the 2013 championship.
“First time to Ireland and I loved it. The forecast wasn’t amazing but we definitely made the most of it with some surfing and SUP’ing with dolphins. The contest saw cross to cross onshore starboard tack conditions pretty similar to my home spot Shoreham. I was using 2013 North Heros with my only wave board a 2013 79l Fanatic TriWave. This board fits my whole range of sails from 3.7 / 5.3 perfectly. After discussing my board and fin options with Steve I have tried to even up the thruster with the main center fin. I now use two 12cm Ezzy asymmetric (+1) with a 16cm Stubby in the rear. This has made my board incredible for grip but I love that its lose enough for me to push it out in onshore conditions to add some style to my top turns. Really allows me to make the most of small powerless waves. I was worried about its performance in down the line conditions but even in logo high waves in Northern Ireland the board copes with everything I throw at it. I’m going to struggle to find a better set up! ”

We’d like to welcome Californian ripper Arnout Ter Schure to the team and let you know a bit about him.
Great to hear from our young Italian ripper Riccardo Marca.
“Nice trip to Sardinia, on the little island of Sant’antioco. Strong wind, flat water and friends is the perfect mix! I learned a lot of new moves. In June I’ll go there again for 3 months!”
